DESCRIPTION:Re: International Families Day \n  \n  \nDear Parents and Carers\, \n  \n  \nWe are excited to share with you that we will be celebrating International Families Day on Thursday 22nd May at BWA. To celebrate our diverse and international family community\, we will be hosting a range of events during the school day and after school. We hope that you can support us in our efforts to make this a really memorable and enjoyable experience for all. \n  \n  \nHomework project: \nWe invite all pupils to complete a project of their choice which celebrates their heritage. We encourage our pupils to showcase their creativity in this project. Here are some ideas: create a family tree\, a sculpture of a landmark or prepare a show and tell. Some pupils may even like to interview a family member to learn more about their family history or heritage. Pupils should bring their homework projects to their class teacher by Monday 19th May. There will be an International Families Day Assembly during this week where some pupils will have the opportunity to share their projects and learn more about their teachers’ heritage. \n  \n  \nInternational Families Day – Thursday 22nd May \n  \n  \nWe would like to invite all pupils to come dressed in their national dress or colours of the flag that represents their country or heritage. If your child has a PE lesson on this day\, please ensure that they are wearing a suitable outfit. \n  \n  \nWe feel that it would be an incredible experience if some of our parent community were able to visit us in school and share a part of your culture and heritage with the pupils. This could be through talking to a class\, teaching them a skill or a national song/dance\, completing an arts and crafts activity or anything else you may like to share. If you would like to volunteer\, please indicate this on the form at the end of this letter by Friday 2nd May and we will be in contact to discuss this with you. Do speak to us if you have any questions about this. \n  \nWe invite all families to join us for an international buffet after-school which will take place in our lower hall. Families can then enjoy the food in the canteen and in the playground. To make this a success\, we kindly request donations of food from around the world. Donations of food should be brought to the school office from 2:30pm. You may prefer to make a monetary contribution to the buffet which can be made on school gateway. The buffet will open at 3:30pm. \n  \nTo ensure that allergies and dietary requirements are met\, please complete the slip below and attach this to the dish. You can collect one of these paper forms from our office. DESCRIPTION:It is finally disco time for our Nursery\, Reception and MS children.  The event will take place on Friday 7th November 2025\, 5pm-6.15pm\, in the main hall (enter through school reception). \nTickets sale will go live the week before on bwapta.co.uk/disco. \nChildren 3 years and older need tickets. Infants aged 0-2 and accompanying parents/carers enter for free. Last year’s disco events were notably crowded\, potentially overwhelming for younger attendees. For an optimal experience\, we kindly suggest limiting to a single accompanying adult and considering alternative arrangements for siblings\, if feasible of course. \nAll profits will be used by the Ecole de Wix APL and BWA PTA to improve the school grounds\, school equipment and hold memorable events for our children.
